Just had this beauty arrive in the post today and am looking forward to getting into it on the train tomorrow. His first book was very good, and this looks to be possibly even better.
It's a goodie. Info about each battle, the original-source material (great for checking Livy, Appian, Caesar etc. online) and quite a few maps (though some of the maps have minor errors that aren't in the text - spelling, etc). Will be doing a review for Slingshot.
I hope it's a good book, that picture sure looks like an uncomfortable pose, OR he's had it with his nagging wife before leaving on campaign and contemplating if he could get away with chucking that pilum at her;)
Thanks for posting this Aaron. Just went to Amazon and got the kindle edition of his first book. No rating on Amazon for this one yet, but the first book has a 4.3 out of 5.
Looks good!
ReplyDeleteYes - many thanks, Paul!
DeleteOne of my favorite periods. Looking forward to more information as you make you way through.
