Painted and based. Huzzah!

Well, finally have some fully finished figures to check in.

Xyston companions and Thessalians. There was a bit of an issue with the original matte varnish, but a gloss coat sorted it out (phew!). They are still a bit shiny as I've been somewhat leery of subjecting them to the matte again after that incident!

Xyston hypaspists with spear.

(Hmm, have been sloppy above a greave or two here!)

Xyston Spartans (done a long time ago, but only just flocked).

Refurbished arty got as a bonus part of a buy from TMP. Not sure of the maker, but quite a lot shorter than the Xyston figs, that's for sure!

Nice to be able to adjust the painting tallies upwards, anyway.

    2. after reading your reply Aaron, I checked my unpainted (all nations but no Romans!) Xyston packs, I have 141 Infantry and 37 Cavalry blister/packs (about 1420 figures!) and I'm still buying the packs! :o))

      cheers,

    3. That's a good effort, Phil! I do have quite a few more that aren't Greeks / Macedonians to do too. Maybe 300-400 Persians, another eighty or so Parthians. Great figures, but the drilling out of hands and the gluing of shields, spears & pikes can be a bit of a pain!

  2. Outstanding work, Aaron! Te Xyston figures looks really good. Nothing like a photo shoot to bring up minor painting variances. Often these are rarely seen by the naked eye and NEVER seen on the gaming table.
