Red face...

In an idle moment this morning I went to blog templates and fiddled around with a couple of different views. Unfortunately, blogger saved it and so the usual format and images of my blog have been lost!  I don't mind so much for myself, but I feel very bad for my buddy Nige, as he had put a lot of work into choosing text and images that matched nicely.  Due to my foolishness and blogger's upgrade entrapment that work has now all gone to waste!

Well, I guess I'll have a new project to add to the list...

  1. D'oh! It was a lovely background, too...

  2. All good things must come to an unfortunate end... or something like that ;-) I have noticed a sudden explosion in hits with this flip-card format. Must be bots trawling through or something. Not natural, I say!

  3. I did the same a couple of days ago, i really didn't like it though, and quickly reverted back to the older style, i had to totally re-do everything though....

    1. Yeah, looks like it's going to be a slow process!

  4. Hey Prufrock, bummer about losing all your stuff. In the future save your template before making any changes. The increase in hits is supposedly because people actually have to click on each article now instead of scrolling down to read. I'll see if I can do some internet tricks to help you recover some of your stuff. The banner picture was particularly good.

Now how you go about recreating it? Not entirely sure yet.

    3. Nice work, Sean! Allowed me to grab some artwork and recreate the layout a bit easier than trial-and-error attempts (and searching hard drive) to get it back to something like it was...

  5. Thanks Sean, very kind of you, but it should be OK. I still have the banner picture, so it can be recreated if I put the work in :) Might be time for a bit of a change though...

  6. Dang, sorry about that - surely you can recover it somehow. Your old template and design was fabulous (I"m not a fan of these new "dynamic" templates). Good luck.

  7. I agree with Jonathan that I don't like this template. If you are going to keep it, please use the one with your latest post being larger. Half of the time I can't actually select these little ones and I leave in disgust.

    1. Yes, I'm with you, too: I'm going to change it - you can't read the side bars properly and it artificially inflates the number of hits, as well. Thanks for you input!
