I'm still thinking about exactly how I'm going to do identification and wave / wake effects, so I decided to get the painting done and then worry about that later. I'll try to do everything all at once, so that it's consistent across the fleets.

If you did have your collection handy though, would love to see it!

Cheers again, and thanks for the good and thoughtful advice. Much appreciated!

AaronPrufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-56091033150241561012017-10-31T13:33:40.525+09:002017-10-31T13:33:40.525+09:00Aaron I like what you have done with color mixing ...Aaron I like what you have done with color mixing on bases. If you look at some of the photos of them maneuvering under steam in real life, may I suggest an ever so subtle wake breaking and water be churned behind them. Go real easy at first as to much will take away the affect. Also for mine I made the naval ensigns of the particular nation and shrunk and printed them with my ink jet printer using white glue to place them on a corner. It’s not necessary but I found it added not only color but helped my poor eyes identify who was who;)

I still have some of my collection somewhere I could photo and send you for food for thought. Let me know.

Cheers
KevinKevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07496898036305134720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-76466934293004461082017-10-30T19:38:54.178+09:002017-10-30T19:38:54.178+09:00Thanks all! Normally digital photography is not kind to the smaller scales, but hey are superb.

Net based Kindle purchases have transformed by research ability. A few weeks ago, I wanted some specific info on the 1066 Breton army, which surprisingly was less than complete on the net. Searching Amazon Kindle, I found a couple of books of interest and in moments, there they were, on my machine. Contrast that to years ago as to what 'might' be held on bookshop shelves etc and the search for something of value would have been inordinate.Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.com
