Details here if you are interested in buying: http://wargaming4grownups.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/northampton-1460-how-to-buy-faq.html

Now Hannu has bought a copy I think we have a stamp of approval. He's also working on a 1918 anniversary wargame, but not the one you're probably thinking of.

As for it being "unofficial" N1460 is the official game of the Battle of Northampton from the Northampton Battlefields Society. Although it shares a lot of similarities with W1815, it has added features such as politics & negotiation, the weather and a bit of treachery. And it features a Papal Legate as a main character. It's also quite a bit different as it involves the attack on an artillery fortification.

W1815 is a breakthrough game as it introduces new game concepts not seen elsewhere. It is a classic.Trebianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221916804339000102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-84939225603069922612018-01-26T01:10:58.481+09:002018-01-26T01:10:58.481+09:00Thanks Jay, will check it out. Thanks Jay, will check it out.Prufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-10374147627942586982018-01-26T00:44:13.068+09:002018-01-26T00:44:13.068+09:00I've got this too, wish they had done a few mo...I've got this too, wish they had done a few more battles.

I'm intrigued by Table Battles from Hollandspiele. Another fairly simple system with static blocks and cards though they seem to have applied it to more conflicts. Might have to get the print and play and try it, I have a few sticks I can chop and spray for units.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/230650/table-battles
Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08028655218045632269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-89568696062116216122018-01-24T00:38:45.908+09:002018-01-24T00:38:45.908+09:00Cheers, Peter. Certainly a much easier (if less impressive!) way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the battle than painting up thousands of figures, as I recall a lot of our fellow gamers did!Prufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-59464980147689794652018-01-23T01:46:14.481+09:002018-01-23T01:46:14.481+09:00Thanks for an interesting battle report. I was hoping U & P Games would have done something more too, but they've moved to soccer and hex and counter for the moment. There are a lot of battles that their approach could work for, I think.

Cheers,
AaronPrufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-61305799350652686412018-01-23T00:55:27.986+09:002018-01-23T00:55:27.986+09:00Thanks for the detailed look Aaron. I am surprised there isn't a follow on module, though I did hear that someone was doing an unofficial Northampton (Medieval) for one of the game shows.Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.com
