Interested in hearing how it plays against an opponent. I have a few VPG games (Nappy 20, Last King of Scotland, etc.) which have proven to be somewhat balanced and quick, but fun games before my FtF and I head off to the pub.

Cheers
KevinKevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07496898036305134720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-85768165306210851342014-05-29T07:57:10.904+09:002014-05-29T07:57:10.904+09:00I continue to enjoy your site, so I nominated you ...I continue to enjoy your site, so I nominated you for a Liebster
http://dartfrog06mm.blogspot.com/2014/05/thanks.htmlDartfroghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01786991975241723198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-8495470397024683842014-05-27T19:44:26.897+09:002014-05-27T19:44:26.897+09:00Something along the lines of Successors is more wh...Something along the lines of Successors is more what I'm after, that is just about perfect!

Is an army ever finished? :-) I just bought some more Caesarians; I feel another legion coming on...BigRedBathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05622983082204451158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-45540847469932550932014-05-27T19:27:35.955+09:002014-05-27T19:27:35.955+09:00Hi Simon, it depends how much detail you want, I s...Hi Simon, it depends how much detail you want, I suppose! It's a lot more detailed than, say, Phil Sabin's Empire, but much less detailed than Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage or Successors. I think the complexity level might still suit a campaign because the game develops reasonably quickly and the cards do bring in more details which you could factor into the tactical battles. I might give it a go once I get my Caesarians finished... (sigh!)

Cheers,
AaronPrufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-49156436569864944522014-05-27T19:13:30.872+09:002014-05-27T19:13:30.872+09:00Like Jonathan, It's one I've thought about...Like Jonathan, It's one I've thought about buying and using as campaign background. C&C:A's module is a collection of tactical battles, so it doesn't have the strategic view. If you wanted to, you could probably combine the two games into a campaign!

Cheers,
Aaron Prufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-39670617420724559872014-05-27T08:19:40.008+09:002014-05-27T08:19:40.008+09:00Looks like an interesting game Aaron. There will always be the problem of mismatched forces, but for more evenly-contested battles you could fairly easily come up with a formula for conversion to the tabletop. There's not a lot of detail though - leaders, legions (regular or veteran) and allies (regular or veteran) are the only forces on table - so you'd need to devise your own lists for exotic troops.

In short, doable, but for real mismatches you might prefer just to roll the dice and continue on until you find a battle that's a bit closer or more interesting.

Cheers, AaronPrufrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17659918463589870423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7386336651732048473.post-67606153897099842042014-05-27T01:07:42.221+09:002014-05-27T01:07:42.221+09:00Interesting.
