Band of Brothers: 'Ambush at Wardin' Scenario

I've got Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles back on the table again tonight. It's one of those games that I keep meaning to play more of, but never seem to end up so doing.

I'm still learning (and re-learning) the rules, so I thought I'd try for a heavier scenario that brings in weapons teams and vehicles.

As an aside, it's interesting to see the difference in approach between miniatures rules and hex-based games as to how flank shots against vehicles are defined. Vehicles are much more vulnerable here: anything outside the 120 degree frontal arc is a flank shot, so you really have to rethink your strategy.

After turn one.

  1. Glad to see you're getting more moderns on the table these days, Aaron. Can't wait to see how this one turns out!

    1. It's been a good game so far, but pretty tough going for the Americans! I'm not doing a proper report with this one; sometimes the report can end up becoming more important than the play and I want to just enjoy this and learn the game :)

    2. That is a good idea, Aaron. I actually ended up playing a recent game of mine far beyond what I wanted and got locked into a months-long slog with it because I was writing up a report. With the year winding down, maybe it is a good time to just sit back and enjoy a game without the pressure to write about it. That sounds so nice. Enjoy your game, man!

    1. Cheers Fran, good fun so far - but it was a pretty expensive game when I got it, so I have a bit more playing to do yet to make it worthwhile ;-)
